Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P) is proud to officially welcome two new organizations to the collective — Public Equity and Think Outside Da Block. These groups join 13 other community-based and citywide organizations dedicated to helping heal Chicago’s communities experiencing the highest levels of gun violence.

Four Chicago communities are moving forward with plans to expand community violence intervention (CVI) programs under a larger effort entitled “Scaling Community Violence Intervention for a Safer Chicago” or “SC2.” The news was announced at a convening on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Institute for Nonviolence Chicago (INVC) in Austin.

It was a momentous occasion as three leaders representing the Institute for Nonviolence Chicago (INVC) graduated from College Unbound with their bachelor’s degrees on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Metropolitan Peace Academy in Pilsen.

June is recognized as National Gun Violence Awareness Month, a time to honor gun violence survivors and advocate to put an end to gun violence.
