The Joyce Foundation hosted the latest installment of its monthly lunch & learn webinar series with a panel entitled “Exploring Law Enforcement Support for Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Strategies” on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Panelists explored the ways in which law enforcement can better understand and support CVI efforts as part of the cities’ public safety ecosystem.

The webinar featured Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) Research Director Meagan Cahill and Research Associate Dustin Richardson, along with New Haven (Connecticut) Police Department Chief Karl Jacobson. Together, the group discussed law enforcement’s knowledge of and attitudes toward CVI, in addition to ways police and violence prevention groups can build bridges to protect their communities.
