Target Area Development Hosts Bingo Night in Englewood

Englewood residents enjoyed a night of fun, food, and prizes at Target Area Development’s bingo night.

The sense of community and togetherness was palpable as people of all ages came together to enjoy Target Area Development‘s Free Bingo Night in the Ogden Park fieldhouse on the evening of Friday, October 13, 2023. The event was a part of Light in the Night, a Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P) program aimed at cultivating safe spaces and accessible places for residents in 27 Chicago neighborhoods.

From food to jokes Target Area Development’s bingo night was a huge success. Around 40 Englewood residents played games and won prizes. The event not only provided an opportunity for friendly competition, but it also fostered a sense of neighborly fun among the participants. Host Brent Johnson Sr. put it plainly “We do this for you all.”

The highlight of the evening was, of course, the many different rounds of bingo games. Lucky winners were rewarded gift cards. But all in attendance received either a large canteen or a cozy blanket as a token of appreciation, ensuring that everyone left a winner.

It was an exciting evening that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended, serving as a reminder of the power of simple pleasures and community gatherings. Many residents exited the event specifically asking when the next bingo night will take place.
