MPI Chief Program Officer Domonique McCord Appointed to Chicago’s Gender-based Violence Task Force

Metropolitan Peace Initiatives Chief Program Officer Domonique McCord was recently appointed to the city of Chicago’s Gender-based Violence Task Force, which aims to address the pervasiveness of gender-based violence (GBV) and human trafficking.
She joins 20 other members of the board who will advise the Mayor on how to increase capacity and expertise in addressing GBV and human trafficking; enhance coordination between law enforcement and outside organizations focused on GBV; shift cultural norms on what constitutes GBV; use data to enhance intervention efforts; create alternate responses to GBV and human trafficking outside of the criminal justice system; and reform policies that perpetrate or create opportunities for GBV and human trafficking.
McCord will serve on the board until May 2027.
