The Crisis Prevention and Response Unit (CPRU) at Metropolitan Peace Initiatives joined a “Hands On Chicago” community event on Friday, March 21. The event was hosted at Chicago Bulls College Prep and focused on providing resources to young men about to graduate high school.

There were approximately 200 young people present to learn about resources within their communities. Throughout the event, the youth were trained on Stop The Bleed (emergency bystander training), as well as CPR and first aid. CPRU was able to talk with the young people about teen trends, ways to stay safe, and the importance of building community. The CPRU team also networked with local community agencies for future collaboration.
