CP4P Leaders Set to Graduate From Fourth Cohort of Chicago Crime Lab’s CVI Leadership Academy

The fourth cohort of the Chicago Crime Lab’s Community Violence Intervention Leadership Academy (CVILA) is set to graduate this November in Atlanta and will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field. A pair of Communities Partnering 4 Peace (CP4P) leaders representing the Institute for Nonviolence Chicago (INVC) and Together Chicago are among those in the graduating class.
Les Jenkins, Program Manager of Victim Services at INVC, and LaVonas Troupe, Director of Violence Prevention at Together Chicago, are two out of 32 Community Violence Intervention (CVI) leaders representing 24 cities from across the country. Over the course of several months, members of the cohort strengthened their leadership and management skills, providing them with more tools to effectively guide their respective organizations and support their mission to end gun violence.

CVILA curriculum focuses on providing training in violence reduction, program management, staff retention, data literacy, evaluation, and other related areas.
The two-day graduation event will include a celebration of the CVI field on November 13, with public safety leaders, CVILA supporters, and CVI experts attending from across the country. On November 14, a graduation ceremony will be held to recognize the accomplishments of the fourth cohort.
